Bugsly

This project's goal was to have a scene that was animated. I made a fully fleshed out forest scene with a nice hollowed log back-drop in reference to my first model. I even imported in my old tree models for the surrounding spruce forest!

The star of the show is the bug, who I've taken to calling "Bugsly". His debut role was to sit pretty on a small stone sage, kick his little feet, and occasionally look around.

Bugsly turned out to be a surprisingly complex character to animate, but I managed to do so fairly well considering my lack of prior experience. Given that I wanted the scene to take place at night, the surrounding scene included some bioluminescent objects - most of which are intended to be fungus.

The program we used to model and render everything was Autodesk's Maya. That program has an ocean of options and choices, much of which I have gotten more familiar with. At the time I didn't have any way to edit the video that was rendered and output, so the resulting animation is taken straight from the program.
